Since the beginning of this project, my district is in lockdown because of the Covid. So I only could explore something around me especially in my home. I found something very interesting around, that was something I hardly ever focused on before. Such as a frame with dried flowers inside, exploring from the fascinating tiles, pattern from a plate that I brought in Shanghai, and one of my favourite ‘Polly pocket’. Besides, this is a colour exploring project, So I used as many materials and techniques to draw as I can. Also, bright colour are used in most of the paintings in order to make them colourful. There was one material called acrylic marker that I haven’t used before. It is very interesting to use them. Moreover, I looked at some of the artists work. Two of the oil pastel paintings that I inspired by Japanese artist Kaneda Mio. In fact, in the pink one, I tried to use the elements from her painting. I didn’t reference any of the elements and colour from Kaneda’s work for the second painting. It is more like a derivative from the first one.
