Maisie Watson- Taking pattern / ways of seeing

I have created the designs below by zooming in the object to capture the details that is unnoticeable at first sight. This has allowed me to see different textures and shapes. I have created some abstract designs by using this techniques, I have used number of different materials, such water colours, pastels, acrylic paint, coloured pencils, coloured pens, and inks. I have used these materials with several techniques such as; continuous line drawings, line/ mark making, abstracting colours using bleach, collage and more.

I have found this task extremely interesting and times challenging. The task has allowed me to translate the imagery onto paper with an abstract approach. By this I mean, forcing myself to be pushed out of my comfort zone and seeing objects in a different way. By zooming in on main features and picking out main details that I find are interesting to draw. I have really enjoyed it.
